Name: White-handed Gibbon
Scientific Name: Hylobates lar entelloides
Lives throughout southeast Asia, in the middle and upper layers of the tropical rain forests and in seasonal monsoon forests. Gibbons stand just under 3 feet tall and weighs 14-18 lbs. They can live for 30 years and once paired, the adults normally bond for life.
About 75% of their diet are ripe fruits (from visiting a dozen or so trees daily), with the rest made up of leaves, shoots, flowers, birds, eggs and insects. They are endangered.
